New era of Bioceramic materials in Endodontics
Over the last two decades, advances in endodontic biomaterial science have significantly contributed to the exponential growth of the field of Endodontology. The bioactive capacity, regenerative potential, and repair capabilities of modern bioceramic materials have revolutionized treatment options for a wide range of treatments including vital pulp therapies, immature teeth with wide open apex, management of root resorptions and traumatic dental injuries.
Currently, new forms and types of bioceramic materials have been suggested for the effective management of endodontic complications and treatments. The aim of this presentation is to provide an overview and classification of bioceramic materials currently used in the field of Endodontics, based on their different material compositions, structures and clinical applications. We will discuss when and how the proper selection of bioceramic materials and their appropriate handling can be applied in different clinical situations and complications to significantly improve the long-term success and survival of endodontically treated teeth.
Learning Objectives:
- Overview on bioceramic material for Endodontics
- Classification of of bioceramic materials currently used in the field of Endodontics
- Options material for different treatments
- When and how the proper selection of bioceramic materials
- The appropriate handling can be applied in different clinical situations and complications
