Dynamic and Kinematic of Reciprocating instruments in complex cases
Starting from the kinematics and physical basics of reciprocating movement, the aim of this lecture will be to understand the advantages in the use of reciprocating movement. The angles and speed used for different systems will be explained and the motors setting for most common devices in the market. The advantages of these systems when dealing with retreatments and difficulties like extremely curved and completely calcified root canals, removal of hard obturations materials, management of ledges and perforations, improving diagnostic efficiency and possibility to practically manage these types of challenging clinical scenarios will be explained. The possibility to act as a digger cutting with the tip of the file is a property strictly linked with a file in reciprocation and this property will give great advantages in the mentioned clinical cases. The sequences of files and the cleaning and irrigating strategies linked with them will be illustrated with a new concept of multiple files.
Learning Objectives: Learning to scout and shape extremely curved root canals with simplified systems, remove calcification with an haptic tactile approach, remove any type of old obturation materials without the use of solvents using a multiple files in reciprocation; improve safety during retreatment cases; manage ledges directly with a mechanical file in reciprocation; improve diagnostic and therapeutic efficiency in perforation cases.
