Access cavity design and management of calcified canals
This webinar will show the use of microscope and endodontic guides to manage calcified canals, showing clinical cases where these devices are recommended and the minimally invasive design, the resulting effectiveness and efficiency of subsequent root canal treatment procedures may be impaired (canal detection and negotiation, canal system, quality of the shaping, cleaning and obturation).
Minimally invasive endodontic access cavities have recently gained popularity among practitioners, but still access cavity design is a controversial topic. Although some studies showed improved fracture resistance of endodontically-treated teeth accessed with a minimally invasive design, the resulting effectiveness and efficiency of subsequent root canal treatment procedures may be impaired (canal detection and negotiation, canal system, quality of the shaping, cleaning and obturation). Calcified canals also represent a complex clinical situation in the access cavity procedure that requires a specific approach and strategy to properly locate orifices and negotiate canals. This webinar will show the use of microscopes and endodontic guides to manage calcified canals, showing clinical cases where these devices are recommended.
